SUMMARY:What is academic literature? online
DESCRIPTION:Get a jump start on your research projects by learning the
basic concepts of literature during this workshop. You will learn what to
look for when searching for (academic) information online\, how to assess
the value of a source\, and in what ways "biases" can influence method and
interpretations. This beginner's course is a must for anyone without any
knowledge of academic literature. Description: this is an entry-level
workshop. A logical follow-up is Module 2\, where you will learn to set up
a search strategy.\n\nYou will learn to:\n make reasoned choices when
searching for information\;\n recognize the values of (academic)
information\;\n formulate an informed opinion about the accessibility of
information to the public\;\n think about how your own biases can
influence method and interpretation.\n\nAlready familiar with the basics of
literature review? Then consider Module 2 (setting up search strategy) or
Module 3 (reflecting and improving your strategy) for more in-depth
information and advice.\n\nWhat students say about this workshop:\nThe
basic and advanced skills\, tips & tricks that I learned really help me to
become more confident and make me more structured and efficient in finding
relevant literature for my literature thesis as well as smaller projects\,
 assignments and beyond. (Rianna Jonker)
