Software Carpentry: R Beginner+ In-Person
Would you like to improve your research process by learning how to program with R and automating analysis and plotting, but never had the opportunity to actually learn programming in a structured way?
The VU and UvA are organizing a Software Carpentry workshop that will help programming novices to gain fundamental software skills. The Software Carpentry workshop is a 4-half-day, hands-on training that will cover basic programming like automation, data cleaning, and data visualization with R - everything you need to start your research programming career! The course finishes with an example project and support to start using your new skills on your own projects.

The Software Carpentry course is a multi-day event consisting of 4 half-days:

- Friday 21.10.2026 (10:00 - 15:00 CEST)
Completing the whole Software Carpentry course may entitle you to 1 EC, distributed by Edubadge.

Hi there, I work in the library as the research software engineer. Basically I help researchers and students learn how to program, make tools for people, and answer questions about coding. I used to work as a chef, so I am also happy to ask questions about cooking and food!
