Panel Discussion: Is AI the end of online survey data? In-Person

What if you could create plausible survey data with a few clicks?

What if bots influence online surveys to push a certain narrative?

What if this is already happening?

With the introduction of AI, low-barrier online data collection methods are experiencing an existential new threat to their integrity.

Join us for this panel discussion on the impact of AI on the research integrity of online surveys. We'll be discussing how the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (both by bots and human participants) to complete surveys is compromising the integrity of research data. We will analyze whether the trend to simply collect more data still leads to better research outcomes when data authenticity is at risk or if a pivot into a new way of research is required.

The panel consists of:

  • dr. Philipp Masur (FSH) link

  • prof. Reinout de Vries (FGB) link

  • dr. Anna Bon (BETA) link

The session will take place  on the 16th of April 2026 from 15:00 -16:30 at 06A00 in the main building.

Networking drinks are available after the panel session.
